Live, Love, Laugh

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I thought I ought to make a lovey Dover layout. The photo on this one was again taken at the wedding.

The gem heart was first cut out of acetate and then the red gems added. When dry this was added to the layout.
The little scrolls at the bottom of the page were stamped in white ink and then the gems were added afterwards.x

What a great day

Two layouts for last Tuesday's Scrapbook Class and as I am making a wedding album of my nieces wedding, these papers were perfect.

Here is a bit more of the detail

The second layout will be on here soon xx.

Play

Another little boy layout but you could make this for a girl or as a Valentine layout.

The secret to this one is to choose colours that go together. Double sided papers work well as they mostly have a plainer side and a patterned side.

I like the way the title fitted onto the handle bars of the bike.

Better show some more cards next time lol.

What a great day

Still trying to find ways of using my enormous amount odds washi tape on my class layouts. Managed to use three different ones this time.

I broke the grey background up using Bo Bunny edge and background stamps oh and it's actually four different washi tapes lol.

The word stamps are from Technique Tuesday. Another one soon xx.

Holly

Sometimes the simplest layouts can take ages to make. Little did I know when I started making this one, how time consuming it would be to stamp, colour and cut out all of the little holly leaves and berries.

But overall I liked the effect it gave.

Still got one more Christmas layout to share but need to find the right photo first as we haven't had any snow yet. More tomorrow xx

A Fun Winter layout

A little while back I shared a double layout remembering 2015. This is the second layout that was taught in class.

I brought in one of my Christmas cards which I received in 2015 and used it to make the main decoration on the page by painting the image and extending the paint across the page.

The snow flakes were added on sticky foam pads and the title was cut using the Scan n Cut. This one was really fun to make and I have actually kept one of my bought Christmas cards for the first time in ages lol.

Trentham Gardens

I love using a white background but I rarely use black cardstock as a background so I was pleasantly surprised how lovely this one turned out.

Using a white ink pad and Bobunny swirl stamps worked really well.

The black sparklers went really well in the embossed, red flowers and nicely enclosed the four photos.
By the way, if you want a day out then there is nothing better than searching for the wire fairy sculptures at Trentham.
I'll be back with more tomorrow. Xx

A date for your diary

Just a quick reminder that I am now taking bookings for the Crop/Craft day on Saturday 27th February. As usual the day will start at 9.30am and finish at 4pm. Tickets are £10 and include entry, tea/coffee and cake all day.

You can bring along anything to do on the day like knitting, sewing, Scrapbooking, Cardmaking etc and it is a good opportunity to see what others are doing and have a good chat and catch up with old friends and make some new ones.

Please email ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk to book your place or book your tickets using the payment button at the top of this Blog.
More tomorrow xxx

Folding Christmas Card

I've had some requests to show how I made the folding Christmas Card so below you will find instructions and a few videos to help you along the way. (Don't forget, this folded card can be used for all occasions.)
Cut an A5 card to the right size and mark all of the cuts and folds using a ruler and pencil using the diagram below. Remember the card measures 14.5cm x 25cm when open.
Fold and cut the sections as shown in the video. (I didnt have timeto edit into one video sorry)

Cover the inside of the second card with the gold paper and wet glue.
Stick the folded panel to the gold card so that the card will still fold in half and so that there is a small border around the card.

Cut the red card so that it fits to the inside of the card as shown in the picture.
Add the two red strips, one at the top and one at the bottom. Now add the swirls as shown in the picture and add the gems.
Bend the three holly leaves through the middle and stick to one of the red panels. Now add two white flat beads as berries.
Mat and layer the greeting and stick to the second panel.
To decorate the front of the card
Cut a piece of red measuring 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" and stick to the front.
Cut a white piece of card measuring 4 3/8" x 5 1/8" and stick on the red.
Cut out a piece of red measuring 2 1/2" x 4 3/4" and stick to the left of the card.
Now add the tree starting with the largest piece and building up to the smaller piece. Cut a small piece of paper for the trunk and colour using a brown pen. Stick in place on the red.
Add the two swirls and the gems to finish.

A Year To Remember - A Scrapping Your Family Layout

The first class of 2016 was last Saturday and the aim was to remember the events of 2016 in a double layout.

It's not always easy to put loads of photos on a page so the best thing to do before you start a layout like this is to choose 10 photos which stand out as the best of your year.

Here's what I did with them

Notice the photos in the main circle are black and white however I didn't want them to be too harsh so I used the "sketch" app to make them into pencil drawings.

Here's some detail

And I love the Diecut months which I "found again" amongst the piles of stuff I have in my craft room.

I did do one other quick layout for class but I'll show you that tomorrow. Happy New Year xxx
