Triple Snowflake Christmas

Love this die by Memorybox but its a bugger to get out. Yes I know, wax paper etc but it still sticks. I did however persevere and managed to cut out 48 for the card class but I don't think I'll be using it in class again lol. It will be interesting to see how the three people who later went out and bought it get on. Anyway, here is the finished card

I used pearlescent cardstock for the background which made the snowflakes stand out even more.

Note to self. Cut out all die cuts BEFORE making card for class lol. xx

Merry Christmas Circle

A really simple card but very pretty. The photo does not do this justice honest.

The beauty of this die is that you can embellish it to your hearts content and it only gets better and better. Everyone in class was able to add as much or as little glitter as they liked. I am going to use this die again in December but in a more 3D way. Watch this space xxx

If flowers were friends.....

So now time for a few cards made for the October card classes. Normally I do loads of glittery Christmas cards but this year I kept in mind that not everyone does loads of glitter infact not everyone does Christmas, so I added in a birthday card here and there just for good measure.

This is the first

made using the October stamp release by HobbyArt and one of my favourite stamp sets at the moment.

None of the image was stamped directly onto the card. I stamped and layered it in four separate pieces and put it together around the greeting. This allowed me to shape some of the leaves and flowers.

Canvas Class

It's always so exciting when I can get new people to dip their toes into the world of Mixed media and that's exactly what happened last Saturday when a group of ladies who normally come to my Scrapping Your Family classes decided to sign up for a canvas class.

We had a wonderful time, loads of mess, chat and tea/coffee (oh and don't forget the biscuits and scrummy cakes provided by Evelyn.) and EVERYONE went away with a completed canvas.

The first one was the more challenging of the two and I thought only a few would have a go but no, everyone wanted to do this one except my mum

which is all about creating a background.

As with anything, these can still be added to but I called a halt as I didn't want to frighten everyone off lol. (that's for another class). 
There were two things that everyone found difficult. The first was remembering that ANYTHING GOES and it doesn't have to be symmetrical or pretty when you are preparing the canvas. Scrapbookers found this really hard.

The second was ignoring colour when placing the embellishments. It wasn't until everything was eventually painted white that they all understood the process and how it works.

I think everyone had a good time. Evelyn was one of the only people who added her photo on the day so here is her finished piece.

Ladies That Craft

I have had a few enquiries lately about where the classes are based and what we do so I thought I'd take a few minutes to give you a bit of information.

Most of my classes take place at Parkwood Community Centre in Rainham, Kent and normally last two or three hours. The exception is the Crops which are all day and the Special classes like Creativity 101 or Special Edition Scrapbook Classes. These can last from 3 hours to all day depending on the project.

We do have loads of fun and you get to chat, drink tea and coffee and make new, like minded friends.

If you scroll down the pages of this blog you can see some of the many, many layouts, cards and projects I have taught (I have been teaching since 2005). I teach Scrapbooking, Card Making, Stamping, Art Journalling, Mixed Media, Mini books and loads more.

Basil 2014

Now I have to be honest, I've had this pet paper for a quite a while but I didn't know whether to cut it up or use it as a background as it is quite busy. Decision made last Saturday as I used it for the second Scrapping Your Family layout.

and yes I do class my pets as family, after all they are with us all the time and certainly lead us a merry dance and so we need some sort of memory for when they are gone. (Don't worry, Basil is still very much around lol)

I have been doing loads honest

loads and loads of projects on the go at the moment but not many I can show as they are for Dt's. However the Scrapping Your Family group have been in full swing creating layouts last Saturday and having a bit of fun.

Here is the first layout we made

Everyone had a choice of papers in a variety of colours and we had some amazing results. I will post some of the finished work later this week.
