One in a million

So hard to photograph this finished layout because of the mute background colours I used but this is the best I could get.
The layout was made for class and the techniques for this one were using wired string to make an embellishment for flowers
I know those little flowers are fiddley but I still love the effect they make.
Technique two was using lace flowers in their natural state.

Techniques three. colouring Dazzlers with a bronze Stazon pen for the centre of the flowers
Not everyone chose orange as their colour palette but every layout the class made was unique in colour and design. Loved doing this one xx

Great class today

and everyone did so well. There were two layouts to work on but at 12 noon I made everyone stop so that they could watch how to finish off their white layout and make it look more like metal. You can see the process on www.newnanny.blogspot.co.uk but here is the finished layout.
and of course some of the close up detail.

It's a great technique and one to work on. Think I might try it with a brighter blue next time or maybe even a different colour. Watch this space. xx

Laughing With Goofy

This was layout two from Tuesdays Scrapbook class. I have been playing around for a while now with different colours and themes to make Disney layouts and a mini book for my grandchildren who have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Disneyland.
I quite like the cartoon effect and I think the Mickey Mouse ears at the bottom works well but not sure about the green.
Oh well a bit more practise wont hurt lol. More tomorrow xx

Happy Birthday Zig Zag Card

I've seen this type of zig zag card in magazines, on Pinterest and more recently saw Marilyn making one at the Crop so I thought I'd give it a go.
It's so easy to make and can be dressed up in so many ways. Personally I think it would make a great wedding card and if you added 3d flowers you could always make a little box to hold it instead of an envelope.
Here's a closer look showing the fold. I kept it simple for class but it has endless possibilities and I will definitely be making more.
Two more cards to come from this class so watch this space xx
